Firstly, the tackle dealers who sell our club books can be your first point of call for tackle, bait and other supplies:

  • Outdoor Antics, Now at Unit E, Trafalgar Industrial Estate, Downham market, PE38 9SW [www.outdoor-antics.org.uk]; tel: 01366 321778
  • Second Chance, Outwell; tel 07738 709389

Websites:

Purepiscator: "Saltwater or Fresh, Coarse, Game or Sea, traditional or modern, here it matters not, the idea is simply to create a varied collection of articles and writings from across the angling world."  Sadly, Purepiscator has now closed although it will remain on the web in a dormant state, so the content can still be accessed.  The good news is that a new site, Piscatoribus Sacrum, has been started and will take over where Purepiscator left off.

Fishing Magic: A leading internet site, now "under new management" as they say.

Anglersnet: Similarly, a leading internet site for all things angling.

Go Fishing: website for the top-selling magazines Angling Times, Improve Your Coarse Fishing, Trout and Salmon, etc.

Caught by the River: an eclectic mix of angling paraphernalia, described as "an antidote to indifference".

Waterlog: beautifully-produced quarterly fishing magazine with a stylish and irreverent website.

Catching the Impossible/A Passion for Angling: sites run by Hugh Miles with information on the best angling films ever made.

Norfolk Anglers: a site dedicated to fishing in Norfolk, run by the Norfolk Anglers Conservation Association.

Norfolk Sea Fishing: two sites providing information on sea fishing on and around the Norfolk coast. These are http://www.seafishing.org and http://www.fishingmarks.co.uk

Tide tables: essential for those wishing to make use of the information provided by the sea fishing sites. Can be found at: http://www.lucasbooks.co.uk/times%20norfolk.html and also at http://www.deepdalefarm.co.uk/tides/

Weather Forecasts: again, essential information for anglers. There are lots of weather resources on the web, but try these first: BBCFarmers Weekly; and Meteorologica (click on FreeData).

Moonphase calendar: find out what  phase the moon is going to be in when you go fishing.....if you believe in all that stuff! Best viewed with Internet Explorer.

Environment Agency: buy your rod licence online.

Rod and Line: coarse fishing news and events.

Go-Fish: the angling directory for the UK.

3WS: directory of fishing clubs, angling societies, fishing tackle shops and angling suppliers.

Fishingnet: the site's aim is to promote fishing and to provide an information service for anglers. There is a wealth of information on fishing, particularly in Scotland.
